It's a challenge for Australia to break new ground.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

It needed as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if not afforded the chance.

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's motivation.

"The possibility to take the field and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," commented Healy.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the belief to accomplish that now," continued Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, if we do, we believe we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this success following win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at one point.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So great is her will, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing through the pain.

But while she later admitted those physical issues have delayed thoughts of retirement, this tournament is likely to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as leader.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her ultimate challenge.
